Self-Care Sunday

So, this is a little different to the type of posts I’ve been putting out recently. But, I wanted to share what a self-care Sunday looks like in my life (not that they happen often enough lol!) and what things I like doing to recharge my batteries.

Listening to Music

No matter what I’m doing, music just keeps my concentration levels up and helps me to focus. My go-to artists at the moment are Take That (they’re a constant), Jonas Bothers, Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, Justin Timberlake and most stuff that’s in the charts. Except rap cos that shit’s annoying to my ears lol! So whether I’m blogging, cleaning, driving, chilling, music is always on in my house.

Doing my Nails

One thing I always feel better after is painting my nails. I’ve been doing them myself for a while now, and it’s a lot easier now I’ve got an LED/UV lamp. It dries each layer soooo fast and makes the process a lot less stressful! I just use the gel Maybelline or Rimmel polishes with a top coat which helps it last longer. I try to do them every Sunday but leave it a bit longer if they’ve lasted well. Self-care Sunday feels like it has been completed properly if my nails are fresh!

Bath Time

I think it goes without saying that having a nice chilled bath (not chilled water, cos why would you lol) should be part of your self-care routine. Having said that, I’m not one of these people that can sit in the bath for hours on end and top up the hot water when it starts to get cold. I get in, maybe use my Epsom Salts to relax, daydream for a few minutes, then get myself sorted and get out. But, I always feel chilled after a nice soak. I usually have some music on too – shock lol!


Believe it or not, I find blogging and most of the things that go with it quite relaxing! Although I’m definitely not consistent with any of it, I enjoy interacting with other bloggers. Whether that’s on Twitter or Insta and commenting on their blog posts. Unfortunately, the writing mood doesn’t grab me very often so writing posts myself can be a bit of a chore. Unless I know exactly what I want the post to look like before I start. I started off the year with good intentions when it came to blogging by creating a blog planner and kind of had it all in my head what I wanted to happen. However, with being unwell and this whole Coronavirus thing going on, it’s taken a back seat as quite frankly I’ve had bigger things to worry about! But, I’m now working from home so will have a bit more time to get back into it hopefully. Watch this space (again)!

  2. This was a good read. I can completely understand about blogging when in the mood or when you can. My 1st two attempts with blogging I started off strong but I now know that I didn’t have much of a game plan for it those times. But now I do. My Sundays are filled with relaxing, talking to my dad on the phone and researching for that week’s blog entry these days. Thank you for share your Sunday with us!!!

  3. All these things are great! I’m definitely a bath person. I go all out with salts, bubbles, and occasionally essential oils or herbs. I love lighting candles, turning on some soothing music, and grabbing both a glass of cold water and a good book. Self-care is so important!
