Monday, December 10th 2018 – Lauren

Tell us about you:

I am Lauren, I am 27 and I live in Bournemouth. My blog is bournemouthgirl.com original I know, haha! I blog about all things lifestyle, personal development and my adventures.

And about your blog:

I uploaded my first blog post on 6th August 2017, so over a year ago now.

What’s important to you about blogging?

For me being genuine and true to myself is so important when blogging and in life. So I would never do example write a dishonest view about a brand if I had a bad experience, as I would hate that if I had influence and was misleading to anyone. I also think it is important I write about what I want to and what I feel comfortable writing, not what I think will gain views.

Who inspires you to keep at it?

It’s so strange because when I am not blogging, I feel a bit lost. So that alone keeps me inspired but also my twitter feed, all the lovely bloggers who post and engage with me inspire me. It really helps I have a supportive family and friends too.

Where do you see your blog in 1 and 5 years time?

I never know how to answer these questions because honestly I don’t know (such a cop out I know) All I know is that I love blogging and I would love to be self-hosted and continue with my little corner of the internet.

What’s your favourite thing about blogging?

My favourite thing about blogging, is having a creative outlet, I enjoy it so much.

What’s the worst thing about blogging?

My worst thing about blogging, is that I work and sometimes I find it difficult to fit it all in sometimes. So I have been trying to manage my time better and plan my weeks.

Tell us 3 things about you:

Three things about me:
I work in retail
I am the eldest of 4 children
I love stationery and will buy far more than I actually need.

Monday, December 3rd 2018 – Victoria

Tell us a bit about you

Hello, my name is Victoria and I’m 33 years old.  I am married to Ben and we have two children; Bella 6 and Reuben 3.  We live in Gloucestershire, south west UK.  I love blogging, going to the gym, healthy living and researching plant based nutrition.

And about your blog

I’m a full time blogger with two blogs of my own and I also write for my husband’s blog.  I’ve been blogging at www.lyliarose.com for 5.5 years about money, healthy living and family lifestyle.  It covers a lot of topics, but focuses mainly on these three.  My biggest passion is healthy living so I set up www.healthyvix.com this year so I could have a niche specific blog and also to try out WordPress as I’ve never used it before and was curious!

When did you start blogging?

I’ve been blogging since April 2013, so 5.5 years in total!

What’s important to you about blogging?

I love the freedom of being able to express myself and thoughts through my writing.  With collaborative and sponsored posts I love to research topics, learn something new and then express it in a way that I think is relatable and easy to understand.  Having my own space that I control on the internet is amazing.

Who inspires you to keep at it?

Probably my children.  Without my children I’d never have been inspired to make my own money or start my own business.   My blog came about as I started a business blog for another business I had and it inspired me to start lifestyle blogging.  Without starting that first business I might never have started blogging.  My kids definitely gave me the confidence to do so.  If I’d not have had them I expect I’d still be in my old job and miserable!

Where do you see your blog in 1 and 5 years’ time?

I really hope I’m in the same boat and able to continue making a full time living from my blogs.  I’d be happy with things to continue as they are as I’m enjoying what I’m doing right now.  For Healthy Vix I’d hope that my domain authority is much higher and there’s the opportunity for that to be a full time income too.

Your fave thing about blogging is:

The freedom to create my own content and not be dictated to.

The worst thing about blogging is:

The admin, the marketing and negative know-it-all bloggers.

Tell us 3 things about you:

I’m a vegan. I love to run.  I want to live by the beach one day and run a small holiday business.

Monday, November 26th 2018 – Lucy

Tell us a bit about you and your blog:

I started my blog in 2015 when I was working full time as an accountant. The previous few months before had been such a struggle as I found out I could not eat gluten or lactose. I was sick almost every day for months and I lost so much weight, my concentration levels were so low and I just slept as much as I could. But once I got my diagnosis I managed to overhaul my diet and lifestyle so I felt healthy and happy again. I started my blog to be able to share things that I found out about free from foods that I found, recipes I created and places that I visited. Two years on and I quit my job and went back to university to study nutrition. It was a complete ‘U’ turn in terms of my career but I wanted to study something that had changed my life massively and I felt so passionate about.

What’s important to you about blogging?

To keep my readers informed and to intrigue and educate them. I want to be able to spread the knowledge that I have learnt and how nutrition can prevent some chronic diseases and a lot of problems that you can go to the doctors for and just take a pill. Food is powerful and I want people to understand that.

Who inspires you to keep at it?

My friends and my family inspire me massively. During university, the workload can get on top of you and I know that I struggle to keep the balance sometimes.

Where donyou see your blog in 1 and 5 years’ time?

I would love to just keep growing my blog as much as possible. I am currently planning posts a few weeks in advance so I always have something new. I would hope that when I start working full time as a nutritionist I can use it alongside work to help spread information.

The worst thing about blogging is:

When people roll their eyes at you when you go out and you photograph things because you are writing a review. Or just the negative backlash you can receive when you post something that people disagree with. I have had some awful messages!

Tell is three things about you:

I am a qualified accountant.

I have a beautiful Yorkshire terrier called Cleo and she is 16 years old.

I am currently doing ‘Veg Pledge’ to help raise money for Cancer research and to actively try to cut down on my meat consumption for sustainability reasons.

Monday, November 19th 2018 – Kacie

Tell us a bit about you:
My name is Kacie and I am 29 (today is my birthday!) years old! I am a flight attendant for an Ultra Low Cost airline here in the US!
Tell us about about your blog:
I started my blog when I first became a flight attendant (in 2015) because I wanted to post about my travels. Once I started working, however, I realized that not many of the places I was going to were very blog worthy lol. I have since morphed my blog into a Lifestyle blog, so that I could still post about travel but also some other things that I enjoy! Right now you will find posts about my upcoming wedding, blogging, travel and planners!
I had originally started trying to make a blog way back in 2011, but had trouble finding the right niche for myself. I also struggled with what program I wanted to use (WordPress, Blogger, etc) as well as a host. It wasn’t until 2015, when I started A Brave Star, that I found what I enjoyed blogging about!
Whats most important to you about blogging?
Blogging is important because we all need help in some way or another. If a blogger knows something about a particular subject, they can write a blog post about it for those that may need help with it. It allows us to teach even if we are not teachers!
Who inspires you to keep at it?
My fiance is what keeps me going with my blogging! I want to be able to support us in the future! I love being a flight attendant, but in order for me to be able to have the money that we need to survive (he does have a job too), I have to work a whole bunch! I want to be able to get to the point of blogging to where I can work flight attendant part time and blogging part time and still have the same amount of money!
Where do you see your blog in 1 and 5 years?
In 1 to 5 years, I hope to see my blog getting tons more traffic (I am currently sitting in the hundreds, I would like to be at least in the thousands, if not more!) from people actually interested in my content! I would also love to be able to have my own shop of some wort, wether it be printables or an ebook of sorts to help bring in some additional income!
What’s your fave thing about blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging is being able to make new online friends! There are so many other bloggers out there that are similar to me and I love being able to communicate with them and help bring up their views!
What’s the worst thing about blogging?
My worst thing about blogging right now is getting people interested in my content. It seems like people are only going to my homepage and not actually clicking through to my content and I am not sure why!
Tell us 3 things about you:
3 things about me:
– I wear mismatched socks
– I have a special cat
– I have been enjoying going to Barre class every Monday

Monday, November 12th 2018 – Fiona

Tell us a bit about you and your blog:

Hi I’m Fiona, I live in Surrey in the U.K. and I started my blog in January this year.  I originally started my blog because I was doing dry January after deciding my relationship with alcohol was not on a very even keel.  I thought I would write about dry January to help myself and others get through it. Happily I accomplished dry January and, so far, haven’t drunk alcohol since then. Now my blog is a mix of my thoughts, experiences, a sprinkle of happiness and positivity, nostalgia, well a bit of everything really!

What’s most important to you about blogging?

The most important thing to me about blogging now is honestly all the wonderful people that I have met through it.  I have made some really lovely friends online who I never would have come across if I hadn’t started my blog. I love using my blog for an outlet to write down my thoughts – and sometimes to analyse them.

Who inspires you to keep at it?

People who read my blog- and the people above – have inspired me to keep going.  After all if no one read it, there wouldn’t be much point in publishing!  I love it when people make comments on posts I have written so I can have a bit of interaction with others too!

Where do you see you blog in 1 and 5 years time?

In a years time I would hope that my blog would be a bitbetter than it is and it would be lovely to know that I might have helped some people feel better about themselves by reading some of the things I have written. In five years time, wow I don’t know, I would love to improve my writing skills and I guess it would be amazing for someone to actually recognise that I could be good at something.

What’s your fave thing about blogging?

My fave thing about blogging is definitely the people I’ve met.  Another thing I love is when I’m writing something and then I really “get into it” and it’s like my mind completely takes over and I just want to write, write, write!

What’s the worst thing about blogging?

The worst thing is when my brain goes blank and also when I’ve got a lot on, work etc and it’s hard to find time to devote to my blog.  I do think it is hard for some of us when we have full time jobs as well but all we can do is try our best!

Three things about me:

I recently re-evaluated myself and completely changed my career path – at my age! I know!

I am a complete overthinker when it comes to everything!

I’m actually considering adding another string to my bow where my blog is concerned.  I’m thinking about adding an extra feature to it and mixing it up a bit more, so watch this space!

Monday, November 5th 2018 – Em

Tell us a bit about you and your blog:
1. I started blogging in June 2017 because after uni I found that I had a lot of time on my hands. I had been wanting to start a blog for a while and I thought that was the perfect time to start. I really wanted to write about shows I had seen and just things in general that interested me.
What’s important to you about blogging?
2. The most important thing to me about blogging is that it helps my mental health. I have struggled with Depression in the past and blogging has given me a hobby and a distraction from that.
Who inspires you to keep at it?
3. I would probably say some of the other bloggers on twitter who are super supportive and always tweet inspiring things.
Where do you see your blog in 1 and 5 years time?
4. At the moment I don’t know if I’ll even be blogging in 1 or 5 years because I’ve been struggling recently and not feeling motivated to blog. I’m hoping it’s just a phase and I’ll get through it because I love blogging and being part of the community.
Your favourite thing about blogging is:
5. My favourite thing about blogging is definitely the friends I’ve made, it’s great to have a support network and people to get advice from
Your worst thing about blogging is:
6. My worst thing is probably the time it takes. I don’t think many people realise how time-consuming blogging is, because you need to write, schedule social media, take photos, engage with your audience etc etc
Tell us 3 things about you:
7. 3 things about me… 1. I’m obsessed with pink. No, not the singer, the colour pink. You can probably guess that when you look at my blog! If I’m looking for new clothes, I’ll almost always just be drawn to something pink. 2. I collect snow globes. I’ve got 20-30 of them from different countries but a lot of them are presents and came from places I’ve never been to but I’m dying to visit like New York and Chicago. 3. I’m obsessed with Harry Potter. I’ve been to the studios 3 times and I’m super excited to be going again next year, my boyfriend is taking me for valentines day/my birthday so I can’t wait to spend my birthday in Hogwarts, it’s going to be the best birthday ever!

Monday, October 29th 2018 – Louise

Tell us a bit about you:
Hi, I’m Louise – a 28 year old from Aberdeen, Scotland. I’m a Mum to a pretty awesome 9 year old boy and enjoy spending my time with him when I am not at work. I organise fun events for adults with learning disabilities for my job in a charity project… it’s pretty enjoyable!
Tell us about your blog:
My blog, Sociable Events, is a lifestyle, family fun and events blog. It is a place I can share my passion for creating happy moments or attending fun activities and events. I share stories of things my son and I get up to, activity ideas, event reviews, event/party planning and other lifestyle topics too.
I also have a series focusing on social inclusion, accessibility and equality particularly within socialising and being part of your community as I feel this is something everyone should be able to do (should they want to).
When did you start blogging?
I only started my blog earlier this year (May) and I really do wonder now why I didn’t start sooner. I love it and plan to continue for a long time!
What’s important to you about blogging?
To me, being honest and being myself is important within blogging. I don’t want to be anything other than myself… Even if perhaps for some people that isn’t too interesting!! I also want to share ideas and passions with my readers and hope they can get some thing out of my posts.
Who inspires you to keep at it?
I am inspired on a regular basis by so many other fantastic bloggers out there. I follow and connect with so many new people since becoming a blogger and they are all doing amazing things with their blogs. I am also inspired by my son as he is a little ray of sunshine and that energy inspires me to carry on.
Where do you see your blog in 1 and 5 years time?
In 1 year – I would like my blogging to be more consistent with an increase in viewers and followers.
In 5 years – I would love to be making some money from the blog and be able to use the blog as a platform for starting my own business. I would like to have regular loyal readers and be able to help & inspire others in some way though what I do.
Your favourite thing about blogging is:
My favourite thing about blogging is simply being able to share my ideas and thoughts with others and actually having people want to read this!
The worst thing about blogging is:
The hard work and stress that sometimes comes along with building up a blog… it can be time consuming and I stress out about getting things done well with the blog. However this does make me realise how much it means to me.
Tell us 3 things about you:
1. I have an Event Management degree
2. I have many tattoos from a sleeve filled with flowers, jewels and a sugar skull to a sunshine on my ankle and ‘everything happens for a reason’ quote.
3. I am a single parent after having my son young and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Monday, October 22nd 2018 – Cara

My name is Cara, I am 24 years old and live in Sunderland which is in the North East of England for those who have never heard of us. When I’m not avidly studying to be a primary school teacher I sometimes make time for travelling, blogging and being a servant to my dearest shitzu Tigerlilli.

My blog is basically a little bit of me but in writing. Sometimes I like to write about things I like or want to recommend or fun places I’ve been and other times I write more serious posts or review things. I initially started my blog on WordPress with a post about my volunteering experience in Marrakesh, as when I was looking for information beforehand I could find absolutely nothing.
I actually only started to blog this year in July properly but I’ve had blogger accounts from a while back when I was in secondary school but I hope I never stumble onto those. I have recently gone self-hosted and subsequently lost all my last few months 🙁
One thing I think is really important about blogging is taking the opportunity to connect and support other bloggers and I think twitter is such a good platform for this as there are so many lovely supportive people on there.
My boyfriend is probably the most supportive.  Although I have such a hectic life when I have to juggle deadlines, two jobs, my social life and a blog he encourages me to post because he knows I enjoy it. He also takes photo’s for me a lot even though he isn’t a photographer so I’d say my boyfriend inspires me to keep going.
In one years time, I just see a blog with a good genuine following with consistent views and interaction. In 5 years time maybe a bit of extra pocket money coming from it? Although it will probably be a lot more of a teacher blog once I qualify.
My fave thing about blogging is actually writing the posts and making them look cute and finally pressing that publish button!
The worst thing about blogging is when things don’t work or go in the right place and I get stressy.
3 things about me:
1. I was named after Supergirl
2. I am obsessed with unicorns, superheroes, games and Harry Potter
3. I really want to travel the world
Don’t forget to click all of Cara’s social links here and give her a follow!
