Hello everyone! I thought I would give you a little background information first. My name is Emma, and I started my blog in January 2018 so I have been blogging for over 2 years now… Wow time flies! I have learnt a lot in my time blogging and I can’t wait to get more involved with fellow bloggers.

So, Steff and myself have sent each other a few questions related to blogging that we thought you could all enjoy reading about. I love reading blogger post swaps, so I hope you enjoy!

What made you start blogging?

I had been following and reading blogs for a couple of year, which I really enjoyed. I loved the advice, tips and just the general feel once I’d read a blog post or watched a YouTube video. Also I love to explore foods, travel and basically photograph things I do. Therefore this drew me to creating my own blog, twitter and Instagram pages.

What’s the best thing about being a blogger?

The best thing about being a blogger is meeting fellow bloggers. The blogging world can be quite daunting sometimes, however getting involved in supporting others and engaging in Instagram group pods really help you feel part of the community. Also I love the creativity and having my own space on the big world wide web, and subsequently watching my space grow.

What are your long-term plans for your blog?

I’d love to be able to my blog full time and generate a full sufficient income from ‘Lifeofemmax’ . I’d therefore keep trying to grow my blog and social medias and when the right timing comes along, we’ll see if its possible. If not, I’ve just set up a small craft business which I would love to become something big. Watch this space and I can’t wait to share it with you all. Dream Big!

If there was one thing you could change about blogging, what would it be?

I hate the people who aren’t willing to support others and are just out for their own gain. Normally the people who join a Instagram follow thread – follow you then unfollow you after they’ve got your follow. It shouldn’t be about numbers but helping and encouraging everyone! Therefore I hate Follow to Unfollow bloggers along with bloggers who are just out to cause drama… in any way they can to make others feel like rubbish, isn’t not fair and ruins the amazing community we have with blogging.

What would your best piece of advice be to a new blogger?

I have two pieces of advice for any new blogger. The first one is GO for it! Don’t let any stop you from doing it, it’s your space so you shouldn’t worry about what people think or their opinions. You are allowed own blog space on the internet. My other advice would be look up certain terms such as DA (Domain Authority), SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), Self Hosted, Do Follow etc also check out my post regarding other useful tips as well.

  1. I love these kind of posts! Emma gives some great advice for new bloggers and I agree with her on the one thing I could change about blogging. I don’t like it when people do the follow then unfollow as I think it’s unfair and shouldn’t be about numbers. I really hope she reaches her long term goals for her blog and that she’s successful.
Thanks for sharing this blog post, Steff. You have a wonderful blog 😀

    1. Thanks for reading Chloe! The follow/unfollow thing winds me up something rotten! I used to have an app that told me who’d unfollowed but it gave me anger issues so I deleted it 😂
Thank you for your lovely comments xx

  2. I always love to get to know bloggers more; so thanks for sharing this guest post! Some great advice here too – it’s always good to know some basic key things to look out for or aim towards when you start to save so much time faffing around!
