Hey everyone! I’m back again with my monthly recap and goal setting post. Let’s get started by going over what I’ve been up to in June!
So, last month, I was feeling very overwhelmed and decided to use planners to organise my life a bit more. Well it turns out I can’t commit to using a planner! I end up using them with all good intentions for the first couple of days and then I forget about them. I’ve done this so many times before, I don’t know why I think I’ve changed lol! Anyway, I’ve been (kind of) planning my meals before doing my weekly food shop so that’s half a success! I think!
Last month I started looking around for a job that had a slightly better work/life balance during the school holidays. Our annual leave wasn’t covering them all and I was relying on our families to help us out. I HATE doing that!
Anyway, I applied for a School Administrator role in a local independent school and I’ve got it! I’ve got to work during some of the holidays but get the majority of them off so I’ll take that!! The people there are so lovely too, they all make you feel really welcome. I keep saying that it all feels a bit surreal at the moment. Good luck like this doesn’t happen to me. But maybe it’s not luck at all and hard work that got it for me! My current job was my first in the education sector and I couldn’t thank my director enough as if it wasn’t for her, who knows where I’d have ended up!
Here I come with the excuses again… June was a bit of a washout on the gym front for the most part for a few reasons. I’ve got plantar fasciitis in one of my heels (it’s to do with a tendon in your foot). Some days I’ve been in such terrible pain I’ve hardly been able to walk. I’ve also had to put exercise on the back burner because Sam hasn’t been well. She’s been in hospital twice so obviously she’s had to be my priority!
However, I’ve spoken to a brilliant PT who has been supporting me since I joined the gym. She’s got me into a group PT session which will happen twice a week. I WILL keep it going! I’ve already done one session and I was still aching two days later. But I’m totally looking forward to the next one!
Because of the stress I’ve been under, I’ve eaten my feelings and my healthy eating flew out the window. I’ve tried not to be too hard on myself as it’s just a blip. These things are going to happen in life aren’t they!?! So I’ve picked myself back up and tried to get back on track. I’ve also made the decision to stop having so many snacks/treats in the house for the kids. They’ve been getting far too used to having them here so I’ve bought healthier snacks for them instead.
Ok, so as my goals for June were a bit of a flop, some of them are similar. Again, I’ve broken them down into personal and blogging targets.
- To enjoy my last week at work, and enjoy my start at the school! I’m really excited for a new challenge!
- To keep my workouts regular. Whether they’re at the gym, PT sessions or home workouts, I need to move more!
- Stay on track with my eating habits and try harder to stop snacking!
- Read other’s blog posts! I definitely didn’t do this last month so I’m vowing to try harder!
