Hey everyone! I’ve decided to restart my monthly goals posts to bring a bit of routine back to my blog! I’ve not been posting regularly at all for a few reasons and I thought this would be a great way to break myself back in gently. I figured if I get to post more often than that, at the moment it’ll be a bonus! My recaps and goals will be on both personal and blogging levels so let’s see how it goes!
So, May for me has been a bit of an up and down month for a few reasons. Let’s start with the personal bits…
Organisation is the key!
Personally, I’ve spent a lot of time feeling overwhelmed with everything that needs doing and that I need to remember. Don’t get me wrong, I know I’m definitely not the only one on the planet feeling this way but I did recognise that I needed to put some changes in place to take some weight off my shoulders. So, I took to Pinterest (if you’re not following me, you can find me here) and downloaded some free printable meal planners, exercise, cleaning and habit trackers and I’m going to get them all in place this week while I’m off work.
I won’t be spending a lot of time filling them out as that would be defeating the object of trying to save time, but I do feel like I need to organise my life within an inch of itself to make myself chill the f**k out a bit more so I’ll give it a go!
A last minute getaway!
As I’ve been a bit down in the dumps recently and we didn’t have any big plans for the May half term, we decided to get away for a couple of nights to Dover. We chose the Premier Inn as our hotel as we normally have a lovely stay no matter where we go. Plus the kids love the eat as much as you can breakfast lol! None of us have been to Dover before, and we wanted to try somewhere different. We always end up going to the same places because it’s a safe bet. So as there’s a huge castle, the Battle of Britain memorial, the cliffs and obviously the sea, we chose there. Also it’s not too long a drive for us to get there. I’ll write another blog post when we get back and update you all on how it went! If this photo is anything to go by, I’m sure we’ll love it!
May has also been the month that we finally got our garden looking how we wanted it. Ideally, we would have got some new garden furniture but we don’t actually need it this year so we’ll wait. I’m absolutely loving the different colours and varieties of flowers we have now and I can’t wait to spend more time out there when the weather’s nice for more than two days lol!
Health & fitness!
Since my last post about my weight loss goals (which you can read here if you haven’t already done so), I joined a program called Ditch the Diet. Basically it teaches you how to make lots of small changes to your lifestyle as a whole, instead of just your actual food intake. I’m getting on fairly well so far and have made a lot of gradual changes to my lifestyle, including joining a gym!!
I’ve been loving the gym so far and have been trying my hardest to go at least twice a week. Obviously more would be better but while I’m enjoying it and it doesn’t feel like a chore I’m not going to be too hard on myself! I’m also beginning to do some workouts at home to concentrate on my arms and abs. I’m not brave enough to do stuff like that at the gym yet. It’ll happen one day but at the moment it’s not lol!
As I said earlier, I feel like I need to get myself organised and schedule things properly. Here are my personal goals for June so that I don’t keep bloody forgetting things!:
- Fill out meal plans on a weekly basis
- Fill out habit tracker daily
- Use personal planner to organise important appointments, etc.
- Go to the gym twice a week
- Workout at home twice a week
So, to get my blog ‘out there’ and to enjoy it as much as I used to, these are my blogging goals for June:
- Interact with other bloggers, especially on their blog posts (I am so bad at this – I’m sorry!)
- Tweet on a daily basis
- Pin on a daily basis
- Plan/make notes on future blog posts in personal planner
