Since I began blogging I’ve taken more interest in taking care of my skin and trying new products so I thought I’d share my favourites with you. I’ll just take this opportunity to point out that I don’t actually know if I’m doing any of it ‘right’, but it seems to be working for me so I’m sticking to it! Also, I’ve added in a hair product that I’ve just started using as I think it’s fab so wanted to let you all know about it!
Ok, first of all, I use these to take my make up off. I’ve tried lots of face wipes in the past from Asda and Sainsbury’s own brands (which make it feel like they’re taking a layer of skin off along with my eyelashes) but these actually make my face feel clean, refreshed and hydrated.
Next, I use this Micellar water to make sure that EVERYTHING is off of my face. There’s always a bit of whatever lurking around that’s been missed by the wipe and this has a mattifying effect so my face doesn’t shine so bright you can see it from the moon. Another plus for this product is that you only need a squirt to saturate the cotton wool pad so it’s going to last for aaaaages!
Next, I use this serum under my eyes and on my crows feet (I don’t actually have them yet but I will without this!). This tiny pot cost £5 on offer at Sainsbury’s and again, it’s going to last months as you literally need a tiny speck of it! I started using this twice a day about a week ago as I am fully aware that at 35 my body is going to start going even further south than it did after having 3 children, and gravity will no longer be on my side. So, to make myself feel a tiny bit better, I got this and I’m hoping it bloody works!
I apply these after the eye serum, obviously the day one in the morning and the night one before bed. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about these at the moment as the cream is quite sticky. In the summer I can see myself switching to something lighter as this is no good if you get hot, your face shines like a spotlight and sweats like a bitch! However, I’m persevering with them for now as I don’t like to waste stuff.
I also use this before bed and before I put the creams on, it does exactly the same as the Simple wipes and leaves your face feeling super clean and refreshed. Again, you only have to put a pea-sized amount on your fingers and work into a lather before applying to your wet face so it’ll last a while.
Ok, as I mentioned I have fallen a little bit in love with this hair cream. I’ve only used it twice but I’m over the moon with the results! My hair isn’t the worst there is, but it annoys me when I dry it as I have a cows lick (*insert angry face here*) and a beautiful kink at the left side of my temple which only appears when my hair is dry. I’m absolutely rubbish at styling my hair when blow-drying it, and it sometimes tends to look dry. Sounds fab doesn’t it!? Just to add insult to injury, I’m allergic to all the normal shampoos and conditioners and have to use ones without parabens, sulphates, etc. I use one I found in Boots called Kind Natured (see below) which is a bit pricy at £5 each but it’s stopped the irritation so I’m sticking with it. So, I wash my hair normally with the Kind Natured shampoo and conditioner and then towel dry it. I then get a blob of this stuff on my hand about the size of a 10p, and work it into the lengths and ends, comb it through and blow dry as usual. Et voila! My hair feels really smooth and in really good condition. It actually makes it dry a bit straighter (somehow) too which is an added bonus!
So, there you have it! I’d love to know everyone’s thoughts on these products if you’ve used them, or if you think there’s something better out there that’s worth me trying or even if I’m missing something out of my routine as I’m definitely a rookie when it comes to this kind of thing!
Hope you enjoyed reading, thanks for stopping by!
