Well… here goes! I’ve been thinking of doing this for a while. But I haven’t had the time, energy, ideas or balls to make a start… but now I have. I’ve bitten the bullet and decided to do something all for my own benefit and nobody else’s! It’s so daunting… I mean what if people think I talk utter poop, or I’m no good at it, or I make a tit of myself, or all of those?! Nothing, that’s what. Like I said this is all for me, my sanity and getting things unstuck from my brain as it’s starting to feel a bit clogged up in there!
When I first heard about blogs, I thought ‘wtf are they when they’re at home?’ now I think they’re great! I actually thought only people with high amounts of followers or money could write a blog and have it posted somewhere on t’internet lol! To date, I’ve only read a couple of blog posts (so behind with the times) written by a couple of Instaladies I follow (Lillie (lilandlife),Emma (lifethroughemseyes) and now the legend Alex (_alexandra_parker_)) and I immediately thought ‘I could do that’. I then mentioned it to my husband, who laughed *insert huge eye roll here* which kind of annoyed me, now it’s made me even more determined to do it!
A Little About Me
I suppose now is where I should introduce myself… I’m Steff, 35 (otherwise known as getting on), and engaged to Ant (yes I know I previously called him my husband but after 18 years together he may as well be!) and we have 3 beautiful daughters together who are 16, 10 and almost 7. We live in Croydon, Surrey and both work full-time so life kind of becomes a military operation during the week, and obviously the weekends are for playing catch-up and testing out new recipes!
I’ve had a fair few issues with my weight and until this time around I’ve never dieted! Clearly getting older doesn’t help so I tried Slimming World at first which I kind of liked but as soon as I stopped I put everything back on again. So that ended up being a big fat NO! I’m now taking the scenic but difficult route of healthy eating and exercise. I’ve still got a hell of a lot to learn to get this right (which is apparent every morning I get on the scales *insert an even bigger eye roll here*) but I am determined to get it right. Again, I just need to find the time to sit on my arse and do some research! I’ve never set foot in a gym, not gonna lie I kind of don’t want to either as a) I have no bugger to go with and b) I don’t have the confidence. However, I have a few pieces of exercise equipment at home to help me get fit, or get to the gym when I’ve gained some more confidence – we’ve got weights (dumbbells and a barbell), skipping rope, rower thing, abdominal roller, resistance straps and we’ve even got a treadmill on order!
Life has been super busy lately with one thing or another (million) so I haven’t had much time to come up with topics. Now I’ve actually had 5 minutes to think about it, I’ve come up with a few, and I’m sure once I get going there won’t be any stopping me!
Anyway, I’m going to be writing my blogs about a variety of subjects so hopefully there will be something for everyone. I have no idea how often I’ll get to post but once I get into the swing of things, it should be a doddle right?
